Help with recutting checkering
I've stripped my Browning rifle stock and want to try my hand at recutting the checkering. I have learned I need to buy a single line 90 degree cutter and a veiner. (also magnifying googles and a good light.) My question is, what tool to use on the border. It is neither concave nor convex, and does not appear to have been cut with a 90 degree checkering tool. It looks like it may have been cut with a knife or thin chisel blade. The distance between the lines varies just slightly where they meet at the ends. Anyone know what tool I should purchase to recut this?
Another thought, would just a Brownell Riffler file No 131 clean up both the checkering and the border?
