Default help with my project plz

I am converting a hunting barrel to an 18.5 in and it needs to be refinished. Is ok to do something other then rebluing it?

you could parkerize it with kit from Brownell's, or even Duracoat it with one of their kits. maybe even some of the cold blueing kits they carry.

if you're going to cut a shotgun barrel down, i would suggest not doing so. it will lower the value of the firearm and could also become unsafe if not properly done. another aspect is if done correctly and you come up short, it will become an illegal weapon to own or possess.

The choke is near the muzzle. Cutting the barrel will also remove the choke area and to get it to choke properly, a removable choke will have to be installed.

There is more to such a project than using a hacksaw and Krylon paint.

Its your gun you can put any finish on it you want. Guns don't have to be blued-it is only one of the many finishes available.
