Doing it yourself will be expensive. If the metal is properly polished, you can use a Texas Plater's Supply brush plater. I can give you their phone number if you are interested.
Gold plating is actual GOLD. Nothing else is a substitute. Potterfield is using a Texas Platers supply kit. Gold plating is fairly expensive, and the parts must be mirror polished before plating.
