Default Gentlemen, your thoughts please ...

I am looking for some opinions/suggestions/advice on my project - http://www.firearmstalk.com/forums/f35/has-begun-13053/

What I am trying to hash out is having some laser etching done on the handguard. The upper is being built using a DPMS smooth rifle length handgaurd and I would like to have etched on either side,

Right Side - Molon Labe
Left Side - Est Sularus oth Mithas

The sticking point for me is font type. I would like a block type in either Greek or Celtic but I'm having trouble finding exactly what I want. It may turn out that what I want won't be available from the etcher, but that will be a separate issue.

Anybody out there got some input that might help?

Thanks

Have you tried to go on line and surf all the free font sites out there?

When I had Canebrake laser etched on my Defender I made up the exact design I wanted and supplied the shop with a *.jpg of the script. The C is the Colt serpent letter C and the remaining was font of my choice.

The shop simply loads the design into the laser's computer and presto, etched.

Thanks for the help guys, unfortunately I cannot decide on what I want and it looks as if etching the handguard won't work out like i am thinking. So the etching has been pushed aside in favor of getting her done.

I hope to have her soon and post some pics.

You might want to check out the molon labe shop online. They have several dust covers that already have some of these quotes done on them. I ordered up one for a project I am working on that has not been revealed yet.

That's a sweet site and yes I do like some of them font's. I was really leaning towards a Thors Hammer font, but I don't think it was available. My thinking was I could get the handgaurd engraved/etched and then black filled. But according to Marty the etching wouldn't be deep enough and the engraving font would be too small.

Well, I'm looking forward to getting her done, then I can tinker around with personalizing engravings/etchings later.
