Finishing a Laminate Stock
 

Just got my stock from Richards and cant wait to get started on finishing it, but I do not want to mess this thing up so Im asking some pointers etc on finishing a laminate stock. Seems some light sanding will be need, and when it comes time to seal it I wondering what to used with laminate. I do want to use a product that will slightly darken the finish.

oh and Im working close to a bass pro shop for the next couple days so ill be able to pick up some items that will be needed

You are lucky. The one I got from Boyds required major sanding. I used Tung Oil. Just follow directions.

thanks for the heads up on tung oil, one thing that Im not sure about is after reading up on it the product can cause a bit of "yellowing". I do want to darken my laminate a bit with the finish so that may work.

Also just want to make sure there are no precautions when working with laminate vs solid wood?
