Nice job and a beautiful wood grain on the stock. Now don't scratch it
Doesn't a new stock seem to make it shoot better?

Thanks, I live in So. Cal and it makes it easy to drive down and hand pick the stock, and as far as checkering? have not crossed that bridge yet. I am in the process of fitting the base and lapping the ring's for the scope.
Have you dealt with Richard's?

I've dealt with Richard's many times over the years and have been well satisfied with them.

Holy cow! How did I miss this project? Great looking rifle, and the stock is smokin'.

Set up a photobucket account for pics. It is monkeyproof.

And then let's take that thing shooting at Angeles.

Default update on rifle

Seems the scope mount screw snapped, so it's to the press with it so we can finish this thing,

I have a question/statement, ahhh ..thought!

Daughter moves out, just the wife and you, your thinking nice, things will slow down, be able to run around the house naked and pee with the door open! Play in the shop and drink scotch and smoke your cigars.

seems that you are now the sole person standing in no-mans land, the star-burst shell goes off just above you and your wife is now manning the machine gun with you in her sights.

Just wanted to leave you with that picture

I remain
Dennis

P.S. M14 we will go as soon as I can make it

Dig that! Was it a Warne screw that broke? They had a bad batch that were brittle (ask me how I know). They will send you a new set if you need them.

Default Not sure of manufacturer

The rifle was a war surplus that was re-barreled in 1964 in England and sold to us yanks. It still has it's original receipt @ $45.00 U.S. It was chambered in OT-6, with a turned down handle, drilled and tapped with a two piece site base, and re-blued. We wanted a one piece base and the last screw we tried, snapped. so needless to say.... I do not have a range report as of yet.

Thanks for the information about the Warne screws
