custom 1911 handgrip engraving???

Im not even sure if its possible with the material, someone will know. Im looking to buy mother of pearl 1911 handgrips and wondering if its possible/how much to have them carved out into a picture. Ive seen it done with wood carved handles. I know its not practical for firing, but looking at show piece/present.
