Default Chrome plating vs. nickel plating

I'd like to know the pros and cons of both, using a black synthetic stock.

Industrial hard chrome is one of the best firearms finishes. Excellent abrasion resistance and corrosion protection.
Nickel is similar, but the plating is softer than chrome.
IHC is silver. Nickel has a more yellowish tint.
