I've been mulling over a cerakote job myself. This thread is interesting.

Could somebody please summarize whatever purehavoc has been saying? I wasn't able to comprehend any of it.

I have no idea just something to make it unique. I want to add icons for safe and fire since there are none and some made up serial number type thing.

Oh are those the requirements for registering it as a homemade weapon?

I hadn't thought of shortening it up but that's not a bad idea. Granted I do think a shortie would be cool, I really just want to be able to put rounds on target and to me a 16" barrel is plenty maneuverable. I just wonder if I should try using a dremel for atleast the fire and safe or look more into some electro stuff.

take it all down and have it engraved at a trophy shop , or some where that does engravings in your local mall . , you will not get the results you are looking for with a dremel , I PROMISE !!!!

And when the ATF requires engraving it has to be done to specific dimensions and depth. I wouldn't screw around with a home made engraving job if you decide to make it a NFA item.
