Default Any ideas to re-blacken aluminum?

I have a Winchester 1200 shotgun with an aluminum receiver. I have tried all the store bought products (mostly Birch-wood Casey) and some industrial versions, but I just can't achieve a uniform dark black finish. I have the surface prepped perfectly and ready for degreasing and blackening. Does anyone have any recommendations or know somewhere I can send it to be done professionally? Any helpful information would be GREATLY appreciated!

Alumahyde or Dura Coat is easiest for the home user.
