Am I in too deep??? Tale of a Duracoat Newb

Wellll last night i made the executive decision to duracoat the slide of my brand new RIA 1911...

It does not have the greatest finish but the parkerizing will make a good base, so i hope

I ordered the shake & spray kit from midway along with a skeletonized hammer.

I want to add a beavertail grip safety but i want one that would drop in w/o any smithing. Any recommendations from experience?? All would be appreciated!

I will keep any and all interested up to date as i move along. Thanks yall

There is no such thing as a drop in beavertail, it will have to be fitted in more than just one way to the gun.

I picked up ria tac combat trigger and beaver tail fitted for each other, hence drop in

Take a look at this:

I really dislike the Wilson drop-in beavertails. They still require some fitting of the engagement surfaces and they leave big gaps around the frame tangs that just don't look anywhere as good as a properly fitted one. But, drop ins do exist. I just happen to think that they usually end up looking kind if cheap.

instead of getting one of those generic drop in beaver tails so I called armscor and purchased one from a Rock Island tactical 1911

As far as i know Wilson makes the only "beavertail" grip safety that will work on a GI Mdl 1911 without modifing the frame-
