Here's the deal with Apple: They make it a pain in the ass to do a Beta test. Things need to be tied to tester's email address and specific IDs for their devices, plus their requirements and packaging system suck.

I may have to just put it up on the iTunes store instead of having a separate beta, for feedback. It's a pain.

Just release it for a limited time free offer... Then we can still give u feedback and when things get fixed just upload the newer versions...

I see in the descriptions all the time that it says "beta version"

Actually....

I'm going to try this new service out called "TestFlight" that should make it easy to beta test the IOS version as it'll distribute the beta file to you Over The Air. If you want to join the beta test, sign up! You'll need the ID number from your ipad/ipod at signup, so have your device on hand.

You won't receive the Beta file right away as I have to make new releases to include individuals, so you should receive it once updated.

There is a known issue with saving images -- Working on it.

Technical babble:

So on Android when a user selects an image from the Camera roll, it returns the object, including the file location. On IOS it does NOT return the location. So on IOS version, if you select it, it returns NULL to the program and no image gets saved. Very annoying.

Since I can read the file data though, what I need to have it do is copy the data as an image to a new file in a different directory and then use ITS location for the image.

I have most of the code to do that but I need to do some work on it before it's finished, so give me a few days.

Other known issues:

Need to implement Back button. Doh.

Import and Export menu options do nothing on IOS -- I think it's a permission issue. Those options are used for syncing with the Desktop version. Since Apple locks down the file system on their devices (which really, really, really sucks as a developer), I may just use DropBox to handle the Import/Export until I find a better way to get the files back and forth for syncing.

And yes, the interface for MygunDB Go sucks -- I'm focused on functionality first, UI second. Dropboxes will be used for things like Manufacturers, Calibers, etc, just like in the Desktop version -- in fact, i'll be reusing the same code to do it -- but I need to make this version bug free before I start changing stuff like that.

Those of you who helped beta the Desktop version may remember that MyGunDB started out nothing like it is now -- the interface and features improved over time, based on your feedback. This will be exactly the same.
