So on Android when a user selects an image from the Camera roll, it returns the object, including the file location. On IOS it does NOT return the location. So on IOS version, if you select it, it returns NULL to the program and no image gets saved. Very annoying.
Since I can read the file data though, what I need to have it do is copy the data as an image to a new file in a different directory and then use ITS location for the image.
I have most of the code to do that but I need to do some work on it before it's finished, so give me a few days.
Other known issues:
Need to implement Back button. Doh.
Import and Export menu options do nothing on IOS -- I think it's a permission issue. Those options are used for syncing with the Desktop version. Since Apple locks down the file system on their devices (which really, really, really sucks as a developer), I may just use DropBox to handle the Import/Export until I find a better way to get the files back and forth for syncing.
And yes, the interface for MygunDB Go sucks -- I'm focused on functionality first, UI second. Dropboxes will be used for things like Manufacturers, Calibers, etc, just like in the Desktop version -- in fact, i'll be reusing the same code to do it -- but I need to make this version bug free before I start changing stuff like that.
Those of you who helped beta the Desktop version may remember that MyGunDB started out nothing like it is now -- the interface and features improved over time, based on your feedback. This will be exactly the same.
