When Randy Porter received this bull elk spike, it was rough and raw. With some potassium permanganate and a great deal of sanding and polishing, it's finished. The burr and/or side of the antler can be hand carved with an eagle, wolf or other image. It is suitable for both a flint knapped obsidian blade knife and a 440c high carbon stainless steel blade with a hidden tang. Various styles and sizes of blades are available. It measures 6 5/8-inches long. The knife end has a diameter of 1 1/4-inches tall. The burr is 2 1/2-inches in diameter. I am not an expert in antler grading, but I'd call it Grade A or better. The handle also is for sale by itself for knife makers (or a cane handle.) For Forum members, it is $35 with free shipping in the U.S. Supporting Members take an additional $5 off. Contact Randy at
