I saw this in a paper this morning and found an article online about it. This isnt exactly what you think when you hear zombie. But it is a one of a kind highly contageous cancer of the face spread by biting. It has killed over 70 percent of the tasmanian devil population already. Scientists do not have a cure and a very slim chance they will get one. The cancer cells are all identical though and what happends is when an infected devil bites another the cancer cells go into the new host and replicate the previous hosts cancer. All the cancer samples from all the devils were exactly the same genetically.

I think if I get bitten in the face by a Tasmanian Devil, I have more immediate problems than cancer! Ever seen one of those things? Reminds me of an ex-boss on a bad day!
