Your BOB must

Okay, say you have a Bug out Bag with food and water for 72 hours, enough clothing to keep you warm, firearm/ammo of your choice, and some means for starting a fire. What is the one other thing you would put in your bag if you only had room for that one item?

Multi-tool. Just wait until you need to open a can of peas.

Great minds think alike. The Gerber multi-tool my daughter got me for Dad's day a few years ago...

Small first aid kit, a few sewing needles, kevlar thread, and some plastic ties.

I'm in California, so there isn't a handgun in my BOB. My BOB is already in my truck and ready to go, so I would grab my 1911, magazines and a couple of boxes of ammunition.

I already have all the above mentioned, plus more, and it will last me much longer than 72 hours. But my choice would be additional cooking spices like pepper, salt, garlic, BBQ sauce.

I have to agree with Dune, water purification, the model wouldn't be bad, but hiding her from my wife may prove difficult.
