I was sort of confused by that too. It's hard to tell whether people are agreeing with me or disagreeing with me.

Ploof, when in doubt, they are probably disagreeing.

Serioulsy though, i think the youth would be slower to resist but would eventually grow a pair.

Thats what I always assume, but they kept saying things that sounded like the things I was saying, which is why I was confused.

Schools That Educate for Compliance and Not for Democracy.

Medicating Noncompliance.

If we corrected this right now it would take two generations to correct what the progressives have screwed up!

Here are my two cents about the article:

I don't know if any of you have met someone who is correctly diagnosted with O.D.D. but they really do defy any order by authority; even if they know full well you're right. There is being a teenager full of angst and then there is someone with ODD.

The article seemed to be kinda extreme in there examples.

When I said that I can't imagine what people like that would do if hungry, I meant I'm afraid it will get nasty very quickly...

If they get violent over stealing a $30 piece of costume jewelry while their bellies are full, what would they do for food?

I can well imagine what they would ATTEMPT to do. However, a goodly portion of the populace lacks the perspicacity to do so successfully- their bodies will serve as a barrier and a warning to those behind them. Natural laws have no pity.

On the other hand, I have a good deal of contact with the kids that live (and are educated) in the country. Those are some sharp youngsters.

For the most part, attempts to mold them to a liberal ideal are mitigated by the lessons of real life. You realize where food comes from after helping put some of that food in a freezer with the aid of a 30-30, or spent time with your folks picking and canning green beans. Your concern with the "carbon footprint" is less than your concern about how much more of that red oak has to be split and hauled, or if Uncle Charlie can help you do a valve job on the pickup.

I cannot help but feel that much of any future "class war" will be based on zip codes.

Like another war of northern agression, or more like urban vs. suburban?

Well, urban versus rural.

The country folks have food, fuel, and water.

The city folks have................................the theater?

I would miss the sniping positions Midtown Memphis had; always felt lucky that there didn't seem to be many rifles around the neighborhood (stressing hood).
