What vehicle would you use if SHTF? Mine would be an M1030.

EMP- Most if not all electronic equipment would fry, the diesel has the upper hand as it will run regardless.
Flood- Diesels will run submerged just as long as there's air flowing.
Street legal- How is that not awesome?
Earthquake- Say a collapsed overpass. It's a friggin dirt bike, terrain wouldn't be an issue.
Fuel- I'm sure some remember a gas shortage. If you can't find diesel get kerosene, jet fuel, wvo, etc. At ~100 mpg you should have no problem finding more before you're empty.
Traffic pileup- (See Earthquake) Like I said it's a friggin dirt bike, just shimmy through or get off the road altogether.
Pursuit- Let's see a blacked out Chevy Suburban chase me through a JC Penny.
Parts- Aside from the diesel engine Kawasaki parts are available in many places.
Storage- You could probably squeeze it through a doorway if needed.
Fits in your truck- I'm sure this one is self explanatory.
Hides easily- Say you're behind a divider or in a grassy field & you have to remain unseen, just lay it down.
And if you're a southpaw you can unload on zombies as you're zipping through Wal Mart after loading your backpack.

Opinions? Humor me if you want, I'm stuck at work & I sit in a guard shack. If y'all haven't already noticed I get bored easily.

Well, Pop & I once built a boat troll motor with the engine of a tiller mated
with parts of a lawnmower to the lower end of an old outboard! It worked
well for a short time, but the chosen clutch bearing was "not up to the task"!
It was "truely" a "Father & Son, Red/Green moment"!!!
(Our "rototroller" did not work as expected)! But we still had fun that day!!!

That day! And I swear that the beagles we had with us that day "tried to
laugh as well"! Thankfully we did catch a few fish & used the main engine
to get home!

Fun with this post, as you did present a serious question! I am fortunate
enough to have a motorhome that always has a full tank of fuel & a
genarator to provide some emergency power to my home when needed!

To have. Even a small one can keep essential appliances working as long as
you do "not back-feed it"! And, if you have an r/v you might find it as a
sanctuary from your home for extended periods!
