i hate to disappoint you guys but the SHTF senario you guys speak of is a hyperthetical situation that could never occur.
today's society is so advanced and crafty that a reversal of that magnatude would be highly unlikely.

Note to C3. Maybe a collectors item. But try paying for your Viagra at the Walmart with one of those.

A true statement except the last two words that are an opinion.
My opinion is also that it is somewhat unlikely. But possible.

If we are assigning probabilities I say 10% chance of such an extreme event or worse taking place. Too many unknowns and possible triggers to such an event to sugguest it may be less IMHO.

Kodeman, +1 on the matches! Did you stock up on the Ohio Blue Tip ones before they disappeared, or do you have something else? I happen to have an un opened 3 pack of them, I can't bring myself to open them.....at least not yet...

Sniper762, what makes you say our society is "so advanced and crafty"? We let ourselves become addicted to so much stupid & unnecessary junk, (fast food, prepared food, huge cars, electronics, everything made from oil, chemicals, pills for everything you think you have, ect.), if anything comes along to disrupt that, SHTF will become reality, quick.

Read "One Second After". I forget the author, but it's a very good book. Believable, too.

CLR8TER, I haven't seen Blue Tips for a long, long time. I purchased generic, strike anywhere matches at the local supermarket. These disappeared in my area for quite some time, then suddenly reappeared.
The Blue Tips were the best. Remember lighting them with' only your thumbnail?

There are two things that people will always need or want, regardless of the SHTF senario, and that being booze. Man will always want to drink some form of booze, just stock up on them little bottles of booze like the air lines uses and open yourself a small bar. You will do well.
