Default Water carrying

Okay so was wondering for Bob GEAR what would be a better form for water ( I have purification tabs) a hydration pack that goes on my bob or a water bottle?

My pack has a bladder in it. But my survival kit is in a large water bottle. No water in it. That way I could fill it from a stream and purify without contaminating my bladder.

A military type canteen with a metal cup is very handy. The cup can be used to boil water and for cooking/warming.

A cup of hot tea or instant coffee from a canteen cup is just the thing on a cold morning.

I highly suggest a quality water filter and the roll up water bags like these . If you need them there in your pack and dont take up much space but when you do need them they hold 5 liters . I think they have them at walmart also but not 100% sure

500 ml is 1/2 liter not 5 liters. Is there a different size bag? Another option is empty wine box bladders and you get to drink the wine.
