That pissed me off too. It's like "dude, hop on the top of the tank instead of crawling right the eff under it."

So many tools to grab, oh, i will stick with my revolver......
The many facets of available weapons and vehicles are one thing that has frustrated me in watching this show. Watching a show like this we tend to put ourselves in the place of the characters, as for instance, you are physically weak after waking up in a hospital. There are military vehicles around, but hey, I think I will try a bike instead. But to the plot, it sets him up to meet and examine his first "Walker" ironically, a legless one. Painful viewing for Zombie killing enthusiasts, but plot it is.
Simple weapons are much easier to use on a budget, pump shotguns, revolvers, bolt action rifles, lever actions, all function well with blanks.
As opposed to Falling Skies, where weapons seem to of the unobtainium assault rifle type. Some of the models seem to be a little too good, short barreled rifle M4 style carbines, if they are scavenged from the military, it would be standard length M4s and M16's. So large a variety, I thought about the viability of the SBR's and elevated it to the realm of fantasy. Still, very entertaining.
