In the city of Sacramento, CA where I used to live, picture ID and a thumbprint are required to purchase any ammunition of any quantity including buckshot and slugs. The only exceptions are .22 and lighter shotshells. They have a form and actual round count and specifics must be listed. They photocopy your drivers license, your thumbprint goes on the form and they are stored together.

That may be coming everywhere eventually. The sky is not falling, but there's definitely something in the air.
WTF!!! Hell IL isn't even that bad. Sounds like a great time to get into
reloading and ordering everything from out of state...

That's just part of the reason I moved to a rural county in CA and then moved to Oregon. The sad thing is that if it starts in Kalifornia, it eventually spreads pretty much everywhere.

So I take it there are no ammo sales in Sacramento, huh? What's the point, anyway? Could you not just go to the next town over and buy without getting a cavity search?

You just have to leave the city limits and there's none of that BS.

I'm curious; have they stated an official goal for passing this law? Because I am going to assume that the city limits are not that far away for any of the residents. I buy 100% of my ammo out of town. Granted, I do not live in a city. If someone could drive for 15 min, and legally by-pass the law, why would they (the city) even bother? Or maybe it's just some of that feel-good legislation?......

There are a few gun shops in Sacramento and they sell ammo, but the forms must be filled out. All you have to do is go beyond city limits to buy ammo without the BS.

Sacramento is the state capitol and as such is a cesspit of feel good liberalism.

no gun man should live in ANY such state. If enough move and they lose tax base, serves them right.
