We have a septic system and well water so no need for city services. There are more direct routes out of town on that side of the lake.
This side of the lake only has one road out of town. If that road becomes blocked, closed or not accessible, you're screwed. We used to be able to go across the bridge into a neighboring state and bug out but the neighboring state side doesn't want to fit the bill to repair it so its closed and half tore apart.

Sounds like you have given it some serious thought, that is good. Next step
is planning out who will show up, who you will let in, I think many of us that
has some prepping done will have alot of "friends" show up. You need to
think how do I defend my position(s). Do you have a way of getting water
if you have no electricity? Do you keep your septic pumped out every 2
years? Sit down and think out what would be different in a world without
electricity? I am not real concerned with EMP but you will not be able to run
a generator for years on end. Fuel will have to be hoarded and conserved
for imporant events. Medical supplies

Let me see if I have a used QP doll laying around.

nudge nudge
I started this thread with the poll and the initial post to hopefully stimulate
discussion not only on firearms and ammo prepping but hopefully to get
folks thinking long term, strategically and tactically. I think I acheived that
goal.
Everyone's situation is different but there are four needs that have to be
met. How you choose to meet them is up to you, but we will all have the
same needs.
- Security
- Water and Food
- Shelter
- Clothing
I will add, I truely hope I am wrong but I cannot see where our current
governments can pull us out of this. QE ad nausium will collapse the USD;
the EuroZone has a ponzi scheme running in circles to prop up the Euro.
Once either the USD or the Euro collapse the other will follow fast. The EU
and the USA (NA) make up just over 1/2 of the world's GDP with most of
India and China economies based on supplying the EU and the US with crap.
So they will follow us down the toilet, there is another 1/4 of the world's GDP.
The world will not survive 3/4 quarters of the world economy and currencies
down the crapper.
I hope I am wrong, I spend my day working at a global company involved
with customers who are global companies. Things are not looking good.
But in discussions with my EU counterparts Thank God at least we have guns.
