Au'rai! What island are you from? I am from Kauai but I'm actually going to be moving away next month.

Default Medicaly speaking

From a medical/physiological standpoint if you could some how make your self stay awake long enough you will have some form of heart failure because your heart quite literaly gets a break when u go to sleep, so no sleep means no break means heart just quits. Usually people will pass out weather they want to or not unless they are using some serious uppers.

Student- am sort of an adopted kamaina- have been working in Hawai'i for past 15 years, with a bunch of Hawai'ian contractors. Spend a lot of time doing training/ consultation there.

Have developed a liking for Spam musubi, li hing mui, and Amy Hanaiali'i Gilliom. Done wore out 5 pair rubbah slippah, and have spent time on all the islands except Lanai (including one trip each to Kahoolawe and Ni'ihau)

Much aloha- Kane C3

Nice!! My bruddah, I can tell from your posts that you have the Aloha spirit and, with the current state on the islands, are probably more Hawaiian than many of those born here.

When I was performing for my aunt's Halau (my aunt ran the Kauai Tahiti Fete), I got to study the culture. I've since seen that Hawaiian is a way if life. A way of love and aloha. It's more than what is done and goes deeper into why it is being done and from where inside of you it comes from.

But, that's just my own conclusion and in my opinion, you one kanaka too!!

Fatal Familial Insomnia
Fatal familial insomnia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Saying that you cant die from a lack of sleep is silly. Thats akin to saying, "I never heard of anyone dying from a knife through the gut, but the blood-loss can be potentially deadly."

That's quite interesting, I hadn't ever heard of that, everything that I have been told about insomnia just said that no one had ever actually died from lack of sleep. What I was saying was that although I hadn't heard of anyone dying from no sleep, I believed it was possible. Thanks, I love learning new things
