Lotta inexplicable emotion in your perspective that you should delve into.

What are you talking about? Why aren't preppers "prepared in the event SHTF never occurs"!? Please explain to everyone what that means, what "they" are like, and why you feel this way...

As for Mayan calendar end-of-the-world people? If they are not lost souls, like Ron Paul Libertarians, they probably feel silly but relieved. Question is how does that make you feel? You seem to be angry at them for some reason...

OH, BTW, what if the S never HTF?
Uhhh, what if it does? I think it's all about coming to grips with what you can afford to do, in time and money, without letting it consume your whole life, like axxe said. Also, what about mostly prepping with stuff that's useable, or relevant, or useful no matter WHAT happens? (Extra TP, fruit & nut trees, gardening, etc.) No loss there, for sure.

So, have I convinced you to go out and horde TP now?

I am pretty sure those of us that reasonably prepare for even unlikely events will be happy as hell if we nor our grandkids ever experience a need to try to survive a SHTF Scenario. It does however seem to be more likely than during most of my 52 years that survival will depend more on some level of mental and physical readiness, not Uncle Sugar.

I'm not angry at the folks who were taken in

by the Mayan myth, once again, PAY ATTENTION,

HL, I said "how do you think the folks who

MAXED OUT THEIR CREDIT CARDS buying

into the Mayan Calendar feel?"

What I'm talking about with preppers is exactly

what other posters have said. They are so busy

preparing for some miserable life in the future,

that they are completely forgetting to take any

enjoyment in the present. THIS is the last time

I'm going to respond to you HL, unless you

either PAY ATTENTION, and THINK, or

cease trolling.

well said Wolf. there is nothing wrong with being prepared or having a plan. but those who obsessto the point that they live their lives in the shadows of fear of a catastrophic event and forget about living and functioning like normal people do have some serious mental issues.

maxing out credit cards or spending money on the reasoning of impending doom have some problems with priorities. i will prepare for catastrophic events as best i can, but will not allow them to rule my life or make me live in fear or hope they happen like some do.

I'm reading what you are writing. I'm pretty good at my part. So, what is your statement based on? Aren't preppers more comfortable than those who don't prep because they do not fear irregular contingencies!?

Again you are accusing them of something, angrily, and me too. What gives buddy? We don't know who you are -- share the truth!

Oh, you "share the truth" better than

anybody, HL. Still haven't told me how you

think those folks who are bankrupted because

they were misled about the Mayan Myth are

getting along.

But it's almost time for you to re-insert your head,

isn't it? Stay warm pal.
