I'll be traveling in a small group to my location of choice, where I will be joining up with family and friends who have mutually defensible positions. There are also many more family and friends spread throughout the county, almost all of them within a day's horseback ride, with most being within an hour's ride.
That's what I ment bud.. and that is pretty much the same plan I have

We (my wife, kid and i) would go to her parents farmhouse. Its off the beaten path, my place is on a major state highway. Thier place has wood heat and they have plenty of acreage to plant and grow plenty of food. There is also a small river just down the road so getting drinking water wouldnt be a problem.

Is that the whole plan?

A whole survival plan would probably be too long to lay out here anyway. You should check out our "what have you done lately for preps" thread. Great ideas there.

I just got back from the store this thread made me realize that I'm low on 30-30 ammo... thanks to you all!

Every one needs a good lever gun in 30-30. Along with the ammo to feed it.

I can see everyone needing a 22, a shotgun, and a centerfire rifle. Handguns of course. Along with a butt load of ammo for each. With all thats out there in the rifle department, why a lever gun in 30~30? I know they have downed more deer than any other. And I'm not questioning your statement. I just need a good reason to tell the wifey.
