Default Sh!t hitting the fan?!?

There is only negative things I see on all the news about the debt of the US and how nobody in Congress can seem to agree on anything. They can't even agree to disagree. So with our debt crisis and Europe's shenanigans plus our economy.. Are we headed towards as serious collapse of our monetary system?? I mean obviously I can see it is coming, but is it happening faster then what I can see? I am just asking for some predictions on how fast this might come to light.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. I'm no economist, and don't know nearly as much as I should about government and politics, but if things keep going the way they are, without a massive helluva bandaid on the bullet wounds, I give us about 5 years before total collapse. If things stay on the exact same trajectory as they are right now. And my public guesstimation is much more optimistic than my private guesstimation.

If the current Socialist in Chief is reelected in 2012, I expect SHTF within a year after that. He will destroy our Country's finances as he continues to push towards socialism. He's already done the major undermining with Obamacare and his other fiscal schemes. He and Holder and his socialist Supreme Court appointees will continue to undermine the Constitution, but will speed up the process. The DOJ, BATFE and Homeland Security will finally be able to really flex their power and I fully expect to see a Federal gun grab as well as land and personal property grab.

Apparently, many of us are already labeled as domestic terrorists, so I expect some form of censure. I expect the ACORN and OWS types and the radical left in general to become truly violent. The attacks on freedom and our way of life will go into a full assault mode and it will be violent and ugly.

That's part of what has me alarmed. Many of these "home grown terrorists" would have been labeled patriots in another time. Or they may not have been labeled anything other than "American" or "Free".

That is exactly what I am doing. Everytime I go to Wal-Mart I pick up about $10-$20 in ammo. Only for guns that I own. I'm also picking up can goods a few at a time and bags of rice/staple products.

In a nutshell:
  • A recent partial audit of the Federal Reserve revealed it has spent $16 trillion in bail-outs to foreign banks and corporations and that money is guaranteed by the U.S. taxpayer (that's us);
  • Congress has spent several trillion more dollars on bail-outs - some publicized, some not - to U.S. and foreign banks and the taxpayer is once again on the hook;
  • The Federal Reserve is now the official holder of the most U.S. debt and they are issuing credit and currency on behalf of the U.S. which means they are monetizing our debt - the more debt they acquire the more currency they issue, establishing very firmly that our money today is based on debt: future labor of Americans...so taxpayers are on the hook once again;
  • Formulas used to calculate inflation and unemployment have been altered over the years to make the numbers look better than they really are: unemployment is nearer 16% and inflation is significantly higher if you include the cost of food and energy (which they don't in the official calculation);
  • Our Gross Domestic Product is very inflated due to the bail-out spending and our actual economic growth is probably far below the recently-revised (downward) 2% which means we are producing less and less wealth which means the prospect of ever being able to pay off this enormous debt is non-existent;
  • Several American banks and foreign banks holding derivatives and assets of American origin have hundreds of trillions of dollars at stake;
  • Very few people in congress understand economics and if they did, they would still allow their political agenda to trump doing what must be done (assuming anything can be done) to begin to fix this mess. In all honesty, it can't be fixed without a major reset which could certainly happen;
  • The president of the United States is unquestionably actively and deliberately working very hard to collapse the U.S. economy;
  • None of the big banks care about a U.S. collapse because they will move to Asia next and feast there for a few decades.

Our monetary and regulatory system permits non-government entities to create money. The temptation to do this is overwhelming and so it goes unchecked until we land where we are today. Tell me, how can a private bank rack up several hundred trillion dollars - many tens or hundreds of times the entire U.S. GDP - worth of potentially toxic derivatives and involve foreign central banks without government intervention?? How can the Federal Reserve, which is a group of private banks operating in a mercantile fashion for the government, unilaterally give $16 trillion to foreigners without our vote or our consent, yet we are legally obligated to cover the value of that money?

A sound monetary system where the dollar is backed by something you cannot print and you cannot create by a keystroke or mouse-click is the only way to prevent this kind of insanity. Gold-backed money is NOT a solution to every problem and different problems from what we face today will come up from time to time. But, we have seen those problems before and we know they can be (self-)corrected but we can be far more certain that banks will not create debt to the degree they have today and that the global banking cartel would be minus one player: us. I'm pretty sure the fallout from this will be a gold standard or some variation.

The S has been hitting the fan for a while but some of us are only noticing now that we're getting freckles. It will get worse before it gets better.

If you're worried about how stable the dollar is, that's smart. It might be fine forever, or it might fall pretty quickly. Other currencies in the recent and distant past have gone from being stable to being worthless in the span of only a few weeks. I suggest you hold some wealth in something other than dollars.

i got rid of 90% of my us currency turned it into property of one sort or another. mainly guns and land. i got rid of my debt as well. i own everything straight up and what things i owed on i got rid of.

i have one credit card that has a 600$ limit for online purchases that my wife and i use. if we dont have liquid cash we dont buy.

at some point its all gonna crash and those that have stocks and paper gold are going to be sucking wind. if your precious metals is just paper and not in your hand its worth the paper its printed on.

when the fighting dying and crying is done if im still alive or my wife is we can convert some of our holdings back into whatever passes for currency.

to things are going to happen. either we get enough people elected who will cut the living sht out of entitlements, stop spending, and repeal everything the us presidents and congress has done since theodore roosevelt left office (.000000000000001% of that happening) or we elect someone like romney or gingrich or obama along with useless congress slime and senator slime that will just pay lip service to reforms and changes and continue the current path with slight deviations (99.999999999999999% of that happening) and the nation's economy collapses in 5 years leading to a civil war between the workers (us) and the work nots (ows) types

basically it will be a war between the liberal types who think they shouldnt have to pay their way and everyone else.

I think you right about people like us being named DT's. If so I would be a cell leader just because of what I believe in. As far as the anointed one (haha) being reelected.. I really don't think it'll matter who's elected.. It's just the same Sh!t different day. Only thing different is the viscosity of it.

I find this subject kind of funny, because supposedly Glemn Beck and Chuck Norris have insurgent cells all over the US. If Chuck Norris is for us, who can be against us?
