Default Samauri Attack!

Lets say you were in 19th century Japan surrounded by 50 Samauri's approaching from 100 yards away and you had your choice of one of these guns to defend yourself, and these were your only choices-1.Any good quality AR-15 with 100 rounds of ammo,or 2.A Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 pump with 100 slug and buckshot variety of shells.Tell me any other good guns you'd use if you must but try to answer my main pump shotgun vs AR question.

I"ll take the AR for range, accuracy and speed over a pump in that situation

I think I would just beg for mercy. Now I'll tell you why. 100 rounds, and 50 samurai I don't consider to be very good odds. Now I'm a great shooter, but not the best. I'm sure these sammys will be moving, and 2 shots per sammy just isn't enough. Think about this- If you miss 3 shots, then you have an unwounded, trained and capable sword wielding warrior coming at you, while in the meantime, once you run out of ammo you have nothing but a club and most likely no where near the same quality training as the sammy in how to use such a weapon. It's just a no win situation. And that's only with 3 misses. What if you miss 4 shots, you have 2 to deal with, and the odds just keep getting worse with each miss. And that's not even accounting for the ones that will take more than 2 shots to take down.

My second option would be to run.

By the way, your dog is being violated by a deer.

Are they on foot or horseback? Is their a clear shot to all of them or is it hilly or otherwise occluded terrain? My concern is the range and reload time for the 870. So I'll go with an AR to be safe.

I was thinking all on foot and maybe a few hills.

AR-15....Let Samauri get close enough for a shotgun and you are already dead! A Samauri archer could kill you at 50 yards!

M2 Browning .50 BMG. One hit from one of those babies is a kill shot (pretty much anywhere on the main body). I would have 2 chances to hit each samauri and the round could go through one and go into another.

Remember, .50 BMG beats sword.
