remote fireworks

The other day I found some left over fire works. These are the kind that flash real bright and in a strobe fashion. I got to thinking that these would make nice flash blinders at night for perimeter defense. The only draw back is I can't light them and throw them as far as would be needed. Any ideas on how to remotely ignite these. I can get plenty of wire but what to use as a fuse. Thanks in advance for your help and Ideas. PS; They are legal here in the 47th state. ;)

Have you ever seen a model rocket launch?
