We hear of these countries that overthrow their governments...
I don't believe we are anywhere near that happening here in the US but I AM very disappointed with the rights being taken from us and the invasion of our privacy...

What do YOU think would have to happen for there to be a revolution here in our country?

Could it be...
1. Our 2nd (or any other) amendment taken away?
2. A certain race or religion being incarcerated or interned?
3. One of the many conspiracies proven to be true and spread to the public?
4. Etc, etc.

I'm not asking if you think any of these things will happen..
I'm asking 'what do you think would have to happen for their to be any uprising?'

Or will America just sit back and let the tyranny kick in?

...just a fun thread for all the conspiracy theorists and doomsday preppers.

As long as they keep chipping away slowly at our liberties, no one will do a thing. From their armchairs, they will dub anyone getting upset at a new law or a new restriction "for our protection" a radical, so no revolution will take place.

Agreed.. As long as the stripping of our freedoms is slow then an uprising is unlikely..

Now, if somehow or someway something changed that all people were affected all at once, no matter race, religion or political affiliation.. We as a people have been systematically divided making this more unlikely, not impossible though.

Divided we fall. You hit the nail right on the head.

A point I try to make often here, it bothers me that such like minded people are often divided over unimportant issues while the real issues are dealt with behind closed doors leaving us no say so..

As long as we have food and circus, we will remain content.

If the Internet should go down, and stay down, the zombies will awaken, see what has been done, and go into beserker mode.

Right now they are too busy hanging out on forums, watching porn and cute kitten videos on YouTube.

Red Bull, Doritos, and YouTube. Bread and Circuses, bro.

Gun owners have a tendency to over inflate our situation. Guns and gun rights are great emotional issues for the media. We have people like Alex Jones and his poisonous rhetoric on one side and then there is Piers Morgan and his boring diatribes. The problem with America isn't gun rights or the 2A, it's the economy, jobs, immigration reform and healthcare.

But wouldn't you agree that gun rights, and paltry things, like the

Z trial, are a great distraction?

So if tomorrow Obama orders for all firearms to be turned in or starts confiscating them from every American, you don't think there would be any revolt?
With the huge percentage of Americans that own firearms (and the power of the NRA), you think most will gladly hand them over and keep quiet, simply because we have food and entertainment?
It only takes 1% of the population to start a revolution...
No, I'm not advocating for one, nor do I see this happening in the near future, but I don't think it's impossible.
I just figured that every man stands for something. If food, porn and YouTube is good enough for you, then great!
