Yeah we had to "duck" under our desks about every 3 or 4 months and the air raid siren would go off about once a month for a siren test I believe. The real fun, however, was about twice a year we got to march from school in single file to and into one of the two bomb/fallout shelters we had in town. One was under the post office next to the school and the other was a bit further away under a newly built shopping center. The shelter under the post office was somewhat small but the one under the shopping center was gigantic. Both were stocked well with the required supplies for shelters and some of the stuff they showed us in these shelters was kind of neat as I reacall.
