I'd go for the SPF 5000

And I'd go from Zinc Oxide to lead sheet.

Yeah we had to "duck" under our desks about every 3 or 4 months and the air raid siren would go off about once a month for a siren test I believe. The real fun, however, was about twice a year we got to march from school in single file to and into one of the two bomb/fallout shelters we had in town. One was under the post office next to the school and the other was a bit further away under a newly built shopping center. The shelter under the post office was somewhat small but the one under the shopping center was gigantic. Both were stocked well with the required supplies for shelters and some of the stuff they showed us in these shelters was kind of neat as I reacall.

Sort of like what are the specs for a car. It could be anything.

A fallout shelter has some means of supplying filtered air, and keeping out anything in the way of dust. Extrerior will provide some degree of shielding, and physical security. They can be built of any material (concrete, block, metal, wood even) since most of the shielding comes from the soil covering it.

Some reading for you.....

You can get in on one of those surplus silos that contractors are refurbishing into survival condos.

You are far more likely to be struck by lightning than a nuclear weapon.

The best thing to hope for in a nuclear war is for you and your loved ones to be at ground zero vaporized in a millisecond and done with it.

Temporary survival in the world that followed the conflagration would not be one you would want to live anyway.

Maybe so- but I would like the option to decide that for myself.
