Saw the commercial for a new show coming out on the national geographic channel called doomsday preppers tonight. Looks pretty good from what they showed but also looks like there could be some people a little off their rocker. Anyone else know anything about the show? |

I watched an episode about two months ago, they compare several different families and thier prepping and evaluate how prepared they are. I thought it was pretty interesting. __________________ Century Arms AR-15A2, 5.56

Nat geo did one episode of doomsday preppers a few months ago. They interviewed four families and went over there plans and supplies and then had an "expert" rate them on how likely it is they will survive. It hit off pretty good and enouph people wanted it back so this time they are making a series out of it. By the way the thread made me remember the show and im watching it right now good show. __________________ Have Gun....Will Travel |

I will watch for it.
My emergency prep is centered around the basic needs of humankind:
#1 - air to breathe
#2 - safety
#3 - warmth
#4 - sleep
#5 - clean pure water
#6 - food
#7 - shelter and comforts
#8 - transportation
#9 - community
I can make it on my own for awhile. Perhaps even indefinitely, or so I would hope. It will be interesting to see what the show has to say about each of those. |

Saftey water and food. Thats really all they focus on. Comunnity in a small way for the people that live in the suburbs. Not so much for the folks on the ranch. __________________ Have Gun....Will Travel |

I liked the one family that was living on the farm, there were four families that were planning on hunkering down there. They had tons of food, firewood for warmth, guns for defense, they even had weapon/food caches hid in the woods along a retreat path.
The one guy had an old chevy truck that was modified to run off wood chunks burned in a 'gasifier' mounted in the bed. __________________ Century Arms AR-15A2, 5.56

Ya they were my favorite. They really had a good thing going. Idk if I would want to go on tv and advertise all of that to the world though. __________________ Have Gun....Will Travel |

We see these guys every year squatting on Public Lands. They are getting ready for the "End Gate". Yea, they are going to live off the land while everyone else dies in a great Thermo nuclear Spasm of some kind. In the mean time these nuts are living off welfare checks. The real end of the world for them is the first snow storm. |

Show displays some folks who are in a mess and aren't going to survive. Especially those in urban areas. The larger the crowd, the harder to get out. __________________ What part of 'shall not be infringed' confuses people? |
