I am surprised at how poorly the people have faired...it is like they have been making camp and starving for 21 days. They will be losing weight from lack of calories, but on a couple of the episodes, there were snakes, kaimen and all sorts of bugs to eat...the hungrier you are, the easier it is to eat stuff like that. Definitely a fire starter and a sharp edge in the jungle...in a dry climate, pot and edged implement.

One of the episodes showed the couple walking past a snake and I was yelling at the TV...kill the darn thing...it is supper! 21 days of starvation, rubbing two sticks together and building a shelter is not surviving...it is a slow death interrupted after 21 days. I watch every Sunday, but I am a bit disappointed. Survivorman is a much better show.

I don't watch this show. I have seen the previews a couple of times. If I was on that show the most important thing to me would be a pair of pants! I would want the woman to be clothed as well. Good looking or ugly a naked woman will always be a distraction to a man. I show my naked body to my wife. I even insist that my doctor be a man. My wife's doctor is a woman. Some things are just wrong no matter how you look at it. I don't think I would be all that interested in having sex while just trying to stay alive. I think I could survive 21 days with getting any.

we are talking about survival, dude. Men have accomodated MUCH larger things, apparently you have lived a very sheltered life.

Your comments nailed it!
So far, they are just slow-dying that gets interrupted by the 21st day end. None of them were holding their own to last much longer.

I also agree that Survivorman has more merit. When I watch other survival shows I learn something new, but Naked & Afraid is just mostly pathetic suffering. LOL

I just plan to stay in my home and not have to carry around pots, tents, or matches. If someone is tough enough to displace me, I won't need any of the above items anyway.

all it will take to displace you is a 22 rifle, darkness, maybe a molotov cocktail. Mostly, tho, all it will take is watching you for a good shot, from 100 yds away, or a bit less.

It's very easy, at night, to crawl within 100 yds of almost anybody, almost any terrain, find or dig a shallow declivity, cover up with a field expedient ghillie suit (poncho, hammock and local vegetation) and you wont see them if you "scan" 360 degrees, all day. If they've got a suppressor and subsonic ammo, they can brain your dog and you still won't know where they are lying. You might not even notice that your dog is dead for an hour or more.

Make that a can on a 223 auto, and the range can be 300 yds, altho the sonic crack of the first shot will tell you that someone fired, it won't tell you where they are "laid up". Anybody who "thinks' that they are "bugging in" for shtf, just doesn't know the score.
