Has anyone used these Mil-tec bags? Debating a 30L (which is actually a 21L) Or their 50L, (which is actually 41L). I really want a pack that I can MOLLE a scabbard to. |
Not even any recommendations?

For $40, you really can't screw this up too badly. Go for it and let us know how they work with a scabbard. My MOLLE bag costs almost twice that and probably isn't that different. You might have hit on a really good buy.

Pulled the trigger on the 50L version. Also got the scabbard. And a knife+fire striker. Standby (several weeks before delivery) for my impressions.

My team's medic had something very similar to this that he used. He swore by it, and he's one of the few people I trust.
Also, if it's something that you really are interested in, there's worse things you can spend your money on. |
The knife, as expected, though thick and strong, is not sharp. I'll have to do that myself. The way I look at it, I got a free knife with my fire steel. The scabbard is quality enough for all but the most demanding of users. The pack meets the same level of quality. The material and zippers are strong, but I expect the waterproofing will eventually dry rot and the buckles are not made of the best plastic but I don't expect them to break anytime soon. They can be replaced if they do.
It's not a pack to last a lifetime of use, but it's still a good pack and well worth the money. |
Thanks for the update. I'm working on three more bobs and these will probably be what I get.

Sweet! If you do, let me know what you think of it. I was surprised by how quick the pack got here. Amazon.com was saying it could be as late as May 9 before I got it. I think the retailer is based in Ireland, bad postal there. But, I got it after only 6 business days.
EDIT: Yeah, Ireland http://www.camooutdoor.com/pages/About-Us.html EDIT2: DANG! Looks like you can get it for even cheaper off their website. DANG! It's listed in Euros, but it comes out to ~$46 for the 50L, if they dont charge you extra for using USD. That's nearly 20% less than I payed for mine. http://www.camooutdoor.com/categories/RUCKSACKS/ |
