This article sounds like some eco-hippy green propaganda. It's focusing on the resources of the planet, and population, as in "we need to go green/drive hybrids, vote democrat" or the world will implode. Yet it doesn't factor in a major economic collapse from these BS spending programs. Furthermore, if Democrats really were concerned about resource depletion, you'd think they would quit funding people to have like 8 kids on the government dole.

I don't think anyone is saying the sky is falling. Instead, we're looking at the situation and see the probability is far from zero that serious economic problems could happen.

The premise is that if people had to perform government service to vote, then the voters would be more responsible. At one time only land owners could vote. The Senators were not elected but appointed by the state governor. New governor = new senators. Today we have more people voting for a living than are working for a living. As Margret Thatcher said "Socialism is fine until you run out of other peoples money." We have run out of other peoples money and the government solution is to print more. It doesn't work that way for very long and I believe we are at the end. Peter is out of money and cant be robbed to pay Paul any longer.
