Just because I own a TV does not mean that I watch it. TV is full of crap, I can never sit thru more than 10 minutes of it.

I like the idea of stocking up on booze. Good trading stock and if you are a lone survivor you can stay drunk.

Ya'll shouldn't be too hard on that show. You just have to keep mind that they've got to get good ratings and they are competing with shows like Honey Boo Boo. So you can't expect too much.

Hey C3Shooter, I can think of a much better place for that Knob Creek you got there!
When I start storing liquor for SHTF, it won't be Knob Creek except for my private stock. Evan Williams will be just as tradeable at half the cost.

I saw a couple of episodes last year; one had a couple showing how they buried silver in their yard and another very publicly showed off his storefront where he would stash supplies and hide. If someone was truly planning for a long term situation where they would need their preparations and skills to survive, why would they be foolish enough to show their names/faces/homes/stuff on national TV? Some of the people had good ideas or decent plans, but I feel as though it is hard to take them as seriously when they show off too much publicly. (Unless some of them are misdirecting/misrepresenting actual locations, etc. Wouldn't that be an interesting twist, if everyone showed up to the wrong house...)

I find that the show is generally good for only one thing. Showing anyone with half a brain and a lick of common sense what not to do IMHO. I saw a few episodes last season, and there were a few good ideas in there. Most of what I saw could only be classed as batant stupidity.

I found that dude to be a little unhinged in general, and he made some chilling statements. Something to the effect of the fact that he would kill his wife and any of his kids that didn't cooperate with his plan if the SHTF.
