I figured this would blow over after 3 or 4 months, that's about how much I had saved up, now after 5 months, I'm down to my 'non-usable' stash, won't happen again.

I feel your pain, which is why I cut back on the collection while raising the "Stash" level. I'm down to 2 handgun calibers plus 22LR and 22Mag..., and 1.223/5.56 and 2 .30 cals (30-06 and .308/7.62) and the DW is just shooting .38/.357 and .22's... Wasn't using or needed 5 shotguns so 3 got sold... Main thing was we changed where we lived so we can have a better life!

I go with the 1000 round figure for the guns I shoot the most. As to ammo for my hunting rifles I have two to three hundred each. I have 9 rifles. For pistols, I have about 1000 each in 22LR, 9mm, 45acp, but less for other calibers. I have four 1911 .45, five 9mm, I have two .22LR pistols and two .22LR rifles. Ammo for Shotguns, I keep much less.

It all depends on your location at the time need, On the road, at home, in your bunker, the list is long. As for me, you'll never have enough for the first few months of a melt down.................I think its better to pickem off at long range. Maybe the others will turn tail and run..........thats why snipers have bountys on thier heads...............1.3 rounds per kill..............

Even in a total meltdown, less than one percent will ever have a need to fire s single shot.

Great! So, can I have your ammo? I'll pay you 2% above your lower of cost or market which, according to your statistics and apparent advice, is 100% more markup than I should give you.
