Stripper clips are cheap as dirt, readily available and they are a quick way to load your mags/clips (whichever floats your boat, girls ). Have enough stripper clip feed guides to go around and then double that. Personally I have no clue how many stripper clips I have in stock. I inherited a few thousand . Now if I just had enough ammo to fill them all up .

Enough to load the ammo you keep around.
If you only keep 300 rounds laying around, then you only need 10.
I can't seem to keep more than 1k rounds in the house since both my AR 's and my mini -14 use the 5.56 are are so much fun to shoot.

heard both sides to the ammo in mags messing with the spring, had a question though friend told me it won't mess with the springs really but it's a good idea to rotate new ammo into the mags you haven't shot. Mainly so some ammo isn't allot older and less dependable, any other benefits to rotating???

I store my loaded mags in the same place (and environment) I store my boxed ammo. The same conditions will be affecting both. So rotating ammo doesn't seem to make sense for my situation.
Now, if you are suggesting that every few years, or on some rotation, you shoot through your ammo that's loaded in the magazines and refill them with brand new ammo, that sounds like a good (and FUN) idea! Every few months, I shoot through my carry ammo that lives in my magazines, then refill them with new ammo. But we're only talking about less than 20 rounds at a time every few months. I couldn't imagine doing that with a dozen 30-rounds AR mags. That could get expensive.

Only 20 rounds every few months? Either I am an over-achiever (not likely) or you need to get to the range more often!

No, you misunderstood. I shoot FMJ out of boxes whenever I go to the range, a few hundred rounds each month or so. But, I don't always shoot away my carry ammo. Meaning, the 19 rounds that I have regularly loaded in my carry gun and the 2 extra magazines usually stay in those magazines for months. Every few range trips, I shoot those 19 rounds, and then refill the 3 mags with 19 brand new JHP rounds.
Does this make more sense now? At a buck per trigger pull for my top-end JHP, I don't like to shoot it very often. But on the other hand, I want the rounds I carry to protect my life to remain fairly fresh.
