You could talk until you're blue in the face and I still wouldn't have a pitbull. I've seen and heard of too many instances of them going crazy and attacking, sometimes fatally, people that didn't do anything wrong. To each his own.

Just like raising a human child wrong could lead to serious mental and therefore dangerous consequences. pitt bulls can just revert to no training or disipline or love into instinctual nothingness, like getting bored and using a cat for a playtoy. if raised from the beginning with love and concern for the outcome of a developing family member then i guarantee you will not find a better guardian and compainion.

Default dont forget the pitts

of course you have, but how many violent incidents have you heard abt a person becoming violent? a pitt bull requires as much attention and discipline as a child. Raising one exactly right ensures a love for all living creatures just like you would want your kid to be. A pittbull is like a gun to me, it must be handled correctly, and if not the results can be catastrophic. I dont like to ever be without sampson or my springfield.

The fella stopped to talk and my dog walked right up to him, sniffed and stood up to sniff his face. I haven't seen him do it since and still wonder what that was all about. It freaked me out and the guy moved along.
That's just normal Great Dane behavior. Just wait until they back up to the couch and sit down like a person.

Yeah, that they do. We're used to it, but guests are surprised to have a big dog just back up and sit on their lap like they were a chair themselves. Luckily, most of our family and friends are dog people like us.

You maybe thinking of an Akita. They were used for bear hunting.
