I'm looking for a good quality water purifier, small, reliable? Any ideas?
A distillery. Something like a moonshine rig. Just without the fermented sugar. Boil water, cool and catch the vapors in a sterile container. Not sure how small you need. Not sure exactly what your situation is. But this is one way.

Have used a Katydyn for some years when hiking. About the size of a can of tomato soup. 0.3 micron filter, pre-filter, and you can wrap a coffee filter over the pre-filter and get longer filter life. DO shop around, price varies a few bucks place to place- $59.99 is cheapest I have seen.
