About 12 hours from now will be when we find out what's going to happen.
Either they can hold it or they will loose it.
Winds/front coming in with 50 MPH sustained and gusts to 60.
We're sitting on ten acres and it as clear out from the house as it can be made.
Fire is down tonight, winds about 5 but its blowing toward us now instead of away, a change ahead of the front.
Got a place to go, got all of the really important stuff ready and all of the folks know which way to run if its comes down to that.
And the Braves lost another extra inning game

Sandia Mountains close trails, only a very few are open. Albuquerque is debate a similar shutdown of the bosque forest along the banks of the Rio Grande.

The wife and I bike the Bosque paved trail this Sunday, it was dry and the water levels on the Rio Grande are getting low.

I can see the fire at Santa Fe from my loft windows in Rio Rancho. The AZ fires are still blowing smoke up our way and it smells like were camping. I hope everyone will stay home until the rains come. They even have fire restrictions out at the gun club. No open fires and no smoking. I don't know about shooting my Mosin-Nagant with the big fire ball. Fire in Amarillo TX got with in 2 houses of Mom and Dads place. Keep the SW in your prayers and thoughts for RAIN.

Default Fire update southern AZ

Still have a home!
We were sent out on Sunday morning at about 1100 hrs and told to run.
Did not take much to convince us.
When we pulled out, smoke was so thick I could not see across my my carport and it went from clear to this in less than five minutes!
Got wife, old black dog and two cats started down the road and I followed with a detour when I saw last old couple in the area still dicking around.
Took a few minutes to convince him to leave, but the old SGT. came out and after I asked him if he wanted to leave with his dignity intact or over my shoulder, he decided it was time to get his wife, her oxegen concentrator and depart the area.
He called today and said thank you, that he was not thinking straight, fire got him upset.
We all still have homes in our area, but to date, 62 homes and 21 buisneses went up in flames/ were burned and all of us have smoke damage.
Fire moved 7 miles in less than 10 minutes. A path about two miles wide.
Wind gusts hit 60 plus and it felt much higher.
A wall of flame.
Tonight, backburns of thousands of acres has everyone upset.
Went to a memorial service for a friend who died, natural causes, and when I got home, wife had repacked our bags due to smoke.
People are just scared from this monster.
The beast is still burning on the mountain, but winds are better.
28 years here, never seen anything like this.
Fire was stopped 1 miles from our area.

But no one has died, so the "stuff" can be replaced.
