Part;
Sorry, u say u understand who held the pursetrings and then compare Obama's intentional undermining of the nation to previous administrations. Just the baseline inclusion of the "onetime stimulus" plans in their annual programs and putting us deeper into debt in three years than Bush II did in eight years including 9/11 and hot war should be considered high crimes.

As for the rest, what's your point? Appeasement of enemies foreign and domestic should no longer be tolerated. And guess what -- it'll be cheaper and faster the sooner and more decisively we address the issues and America will come out STRONGER than before.

The latter has been a cancer on this scoiety and has proven incompatible with a free people everywhere in the world and especially under The U.S. Constitution. Read a book. And take a side.

I still think both socialism and capitalism are both what made this country great. Government programs have resulted in some pretty good things like GPS, cell phones, and lets not forget the Internet. The government, and by default us, paid for those things to happen and industry brought those things to market. That worked out pretty well. NASA is a government agency and is socialism. NASA resulted in a few good things? Unfortunately government spending shifted from things like NASA to things like creating the housing bubble. That's why astronauts are now hitching a ride from the Russians to the International Space Station (I can't even express how upset I am at the state of the space program right now).

On the social side of things, it's hard to argue that social security wasn't a great thing when it was started. It has helped millions of seniors, widows, and orphans avoid absolute poverty. All of the dams built during the Great Depression provided cheap power to people, and powered industry. The interstate highway system made it cheaper to move goods across the country and that helped industry. Labor unions helped improve working conditions. The GI bill helped launch the post war boom. National Parks and Forests turned out to be a pretty good idea. All of those things are socialism.

Socialism and capitalism both made the 20th century what is was. Both helped to increase the welfare and the material wealth of us all. Both systems are also now broken and both have to be fixed. Unfortunately I can't see that happening. Almost everyone seems to be under the assumption that this is an either/or battle of us against them. It's not, or rather shouldn't be, a battle of ideologies. This about fixing what's broken and getting rid of what doesn't work. Head start doesn't work but NASA does. Entrepreneurship works but monopolies and companies to large to fail without destroying the economy do not. Public schools work but public schools without requiring moral behavior don't.

Again that's just my opinion.

I don't understand the issue. Capitalism brought the money, socialism brought the labor, and communism wants them both for free.

Free land and opportunity brought the people, long before there was capital or money. Freedom is the most precious thing,
not any of the various -ism's.

It is understandable to become stupified by a complex issue. Don't feel bad.

Look at the big picture, don't accept what MSNBC, Fox, Rush, Gore, or any of these agenda driven pundits try and tell you. Look at the data and learn to understand the data.

While this discussion has sure digressed from the original post, we have some really big problems on the horizon. I suggested it earlier, Detroit is the canary in the mines.

QE3 is coming, it will be used to help prop up the economy so that bambam will have something to take to the voters. My personal opinion, QE3 will be the last gasp straw to save the entire world's economy. There are no more tricks up the feds sleeve. I fully expect there will be some sort of financial calamity after the election. Who ever is the next president is going to have to deal with a real mess. If Obama loses the election, prepare for some significant racial issues along with the financial issues.
Since the FDR white house was credited with spending their way out of the great depression, naturally today either major party (Dems or Reps) is similarly going to try to spend their way out of this great recession as well.

The USA has been exporting more than importing for a long time, a sign that the entire economy and business structure is totally bankrupt.

When you need to by a Japanese car in order to be able to trust that it will be running for more than a year, that tells you how corrupted your local industry has become. Its very similar to the Solyndra bankruptcy but on a grander scale, living off debt in the waning hours of the crippled cycle.

I don't think it will matter which party is in charge after November 2012. The nation cannot function now and will not function then either. One or the other party will try very hard to torpedo whatever the one in charge with a slight majority will want to try to do.

Don't feel bad about being stupified by the complexity of the issues, Dkid.

Life is tough, and then you die.

Its a beach too.
