Ooops! I thought that he is the military or the police!

You are absolutely correct, the average citizen need not worry about their ammo supply as the Government will provide all of the protection that we need!

Even during Vietnam most troops were NOT draftees, most were volunteers! Don't buy the Left-wing hype...

exactly correct! the draftees only numbered about 20-25% of the total number of all the troops sent to Vietnam.

For defensive purposes I don't see the need for thousands of rounds. By the time you empty your shotgun and you still have someone shooting back at you, you are fuxored anyway. The idea of self defense is to have a shooting, not a shoot out.

Given ammo shortages, fluctuating ammo prices and factors I am not even aware of you should have a good supply of ammo on hand. At least a case of ammo for each caliber you have several guns chambered for.

I don't want or need more than 1k rounds per gun. My problem comes in when I can't find ammo to shoot every week to blow off steam. It's a drag most LGS are playing up the hype and raising prices and the only thing you can even find at walmart anymore are JHP ammo which is 2x the price and not exactly what I need to punch holes in paper. Decently priced 223 is almost impossible to find right now in my area.

i think once some of the hype wears down, things will stabilize and ammo will come down in price somewhat.

Tula ammo is cheap and plentiful here in all calibers. Decent 45acp FMJ is 23.00 a box. There was estate brass .45 on sale for 20 a box of 50 yesterday. .223 is plentiful at Wally World and lgs as well.
