If you're using the WaterBOB in your tub and your standard water is crap, why not just slap a PUR filter or something on it? Would fill slower, but would at least clean some of the crap out of the water before it goes in the storage container. Besides, if you're home when a storm or hurricane hits, you might have a few minutes to fill it up before the infrastructure is damaged.

Just a thought- we live in the country, and lose power due to thunderstorms/ hurricanes/ice storms. An item that I have used several times for NON-POTABLE water came to my attention today. When not being used, it stores flat against the CEILING in my garage. It is a large kiddie pool, purchased for the grandurchins.

We live in a moderately wet climate- Virginia. We have had a few occasions where we pulled the pool from storage, and slipped it under one of the gutter downspouts. It will snag about 450 gallons of good, clean rainwater. Now, I would not use it for drinking without running it thru a purifier (seen what your gutters look like? EWWW!) However, you will need water for Mr. Potty. Every gallon in the pool is one I do not have to pump from the well, and a pool full will take care of sanitation water for over a week. The pools are a few bucks at Wally World in the spring/ summer- and with some parachute cord and a couple of screw eyes, store pulled up against the ceiling. And the kids (and child like grandpas) can enjoy them for their original use.

Here is cheaper than dirt that has the waterbob. cheaper than amazon who wants 39.95. Plus, you can order some additional goodies when you order the bob, just a thought!

Yeah, I'm getting a few of those. I have wondered if something like this existed. Good to see it does.

Very interesting idea. If you have that and a couple of Brita style water pitcher filters, with a little MacGuyvering, you could ride out your average power outage with little to no problems.

Nice find CA. Might have to add a couple of these.

Scrub your tub with bleach, fill it, then boil everything you remove for consumption and forget the bag.

From the website :

What is the waterBOB® made of?

The waterBOB® is constructed of heavy-duty 10 mil food grade Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) plastic. This material follows and stays within US FDA guidelines
