Seriously, I had a bad experience the first time I camped. It rained hard, we got flooded out. I spent the night soaking wet, freesing cold and miserable. We were camping all week but had to go to a hotel because the heavy sleeping bags were DRENCHED. Perhaps if I went camping with someone who knew what they were doing............

And now, my joints are achey and sleeping on the ground would be hell. I love nature, I love being outside, but I have to sleep comfortably.

To be uncomfortable while camping is being in a poor camp. A camp should be a good experience.

When we go camping at Lake Havasu (refer to boat picture earlier in thread) on the Arizona side (South East end of the lake) the BLM has boat to only "primitive" camp sites they have tables, trash cans and outhouses set up and I gotta say all 3 of those things come in pretty handy. Do I need them...No but it's nice to have. I love that they're called primitive camp sites!
