That's funny, your gal was mentioning something about kitchen utensils with you working so much, so I offered to come over and help her re-organize. I thought we would start with her backyard.

My gun of choice would be my Glock 27, being a small frame, it'll give me an easy advantage in clearing my house . My firearms training includes shooting in low light conditions, so if my flashlight isn't readily available, my eyes will eventually adjust to the dark .

There's only two ways in my house front and back, and we currently use the front porch, which is in closed, as the kids play room. In it's current state, kinda looks like a war zone if you saw it. It would make an excellent booby trap though, if someones stupid enough to come in that way ... Lol :-D

If the bg comes in through the back door...I'll have a great silhouette to take a shot at if I need too . I can take a tactical position from the dining room off the kitchen.

This is the scenario that was rolling around in my head if I had an intruder.

I think you have me confused with Marlinman, he was the one going on about rear entry with Eturnsdale.

Though I am disturbed that it's still so vividly implanted in your mind when you are supposedly working your fingers to the bone on your construction project.

You, and your shadow, pawin' thru someone else's swag...

...or is it your shadow? OOPSIEs...

I'd go with a pistol, if I weren't in the

throes of that whole "grumpy, prefer to beat him to death"

thing. Which gun did I bring to bed tonight?

.12 ga., 870, 00B, extended magazine, short barrel, attached flashlight; It never moves from it's position leaning on my bed-post, by my noggin. I wouldn't even have to get out of bed to deal with the threat, though I would prefer to handle it on my feet. There is also a back-up 1911 very close at hand, and the wife has a S&W .357 revolver, that she shoots well, close by.

Our bedroom is at the end of a long hallway and the other end of the hall is always lit, so the burgular will have light at his back and won't trip and hurt himself. I will be standing in the dark, and he would be standing in the light. Other than that I am at the mercy of the boogey man.

I no longer have children in my house so I don't have to worry about the shotgun not being locked up. If a thief comes when I am not home, I will just be out a shotgun.

A 90 pound dog also sleeps in my bedroom and he can hear a mouse fart at the other end of the house. The dog really doesn't like anyone but my wife and myself; but he is not allowed to help, by your rules.

My bedrooms are upstairs with a switchback staircase between the two floors, which gives me time to collect myself in the middle of the stairs. That being said I choose my 9mm, with my AR loaded for my wife. She will stay upstairs tho, hunkered down by the bed.

Wouldn't be my usual Makarov or P-64 pistol at the moment; it'd be the 18-1/2" Mossberg 500 w/14 rounds of light #4 Buckshot on board as well as a red-lens light.

I keep a Sig .45 in my nightstand with a surefire EDC flashlight. If in the kitchen we have a Glock19 with TLR-1 on a magnet inside a cabinet door, if 15 rounds doesn't do it there is another spare mag in the drawer.

Oh and two dogs which bark at pretty much everything. One is a lab, the other is a boxer, lab, pit mix (60 lbs of whimpering).
