I guess I'm getting old but sleeping on the ground has lost it's appeal for me. I would be thinking hammock over a creek! I'm not sure about the temps where you are but it's hot as a firecracker here right now and all the critters are out including my nemesis ticks. Put your hammock low over a creek with moving water and that will make life much nicer if it's as warm there.

Maybe these pics will help. I pulled them from one of my books. Figured you could build the raised bed to keep you off the ground, and then one of the shelters to keep a roof over your head.
