Default bug out in the mountains

Have been told that this is the best way to go. So what are your thoughts?

Im an hour from any big cities. I live in the country near a small town of 600 people. I'll be staying home as long as possible.

Same here. I know the area and it's home to me. Lot of rugged places around too, but no mountains...

Bugging out without an exact destination seems like very poor planning. Running to some place you have never been - - how will you know when you get there? Your plan is to carry everything you will need with you to a vague destination? Are you a very experienced camper and hunter/gatherer?

If you are talking about the western mountains and hundreds of other people are thinking the same thing as you- - just think of all these "campers" all having camp fires in these VERY dry mountain areas. Wildfires will surround and kill hundreds of people. The wildfires will burn for months and consume millions of acres. Sound like a good place to "bug-out" to?

have you ever done any extended camping in the mountains? if not, then you ain't prepared for it. looks good in movies and TV, but in real life not so much unless you're truly capable of doing it. it ain't no picnic in the park!

The folks that live there will take your arse out before you can even get close. They are going to protect their limited resources (wild food stuffs) very harshley. They don't usually care for "flat landers" either.
