The reasons I would go with the 357 is it had adjustable sights, and that it has a bit more energy.
Been many a time i was sitting in my stand with a crossbow and deer walk right under me out to 35 yards ,hard to miss with my 45 on a 15 inch vitals zone on whitetail coulda dropped quite a few with my 45 in tree stand if it were legal,the 45 acp with a
+p hp is more than enough medicine for a deer, shot placement is more important than anything.But i have taken deer with my new model blackhawk convertible with 45 acp cylinder down in tenn they never went far.Most times depends on the ammo and shot placement.
