ill stick with my colt officers model 45 , knocks hell outta anything it hits, has never failed me yet,and fast easy reloading after a little practice,drop empty mag in with another full 7 rounder. cant beat the ol slabsides for man against man.1 well placed shot they not getting up most times.

The best heck hit the fan handgun would be a revolver due to its ruggedness and simplicity. If it had to be a semi auto, I would choose a glock simply due to the universal consensus that its a highly reliable semi-auto.

The one you're comfortable with... That also has a .22 conversions kit.

I agree, in a SHTF situation you definitely want the ability to fire in both a combat round and .22

LOL! We must be in a SHTF scenario right now, because I'm locked in a battle with rust, as my pistols sit in their safes, unfired, wishing they had .22 conversion kits.

Don't even go there. When the news erroneously reported that an armed citizen dropped a dude at 400 yards with his revolver, I called them out on it... Then people on FTF came out of the woodwork, with stories galore of magic revolver skills...

Been many a time i was sitting in my stand with a crossbow and deer walk right under me out to 35 yards ,hard to miss with my 45 on a 15 inch vitals zone on whitetail coulda dropped quite a few with my 45 in tree stand if it were legal,the 45 acp with a
+p hp is more than enough medicine for a deer, shot placement is more important than anything.But i have taken deer with my new model blackhawk convertible with 45 acp cylinder down in tenn they never went far.Most times depends on the ammo and shot placement.
