+1 on the round of guiness. And +1 on the .22LR. Just not at the same time.
I have an old Marlin tube fed .22 that will put the whole tube in the 1" red dot at 100yds. I'm not that great of a shot so I have a decent scope and I have to be sitting of course. Out to 200 it drops like a brick and wind gets it though.

Whatever the guns you currently own are chambered for. Choosing a caliber based on how easy you think it will be to "scavenge" is silly. Choose what you like. If you store enough of it, there shouldn't be a need to scavenge for ammo. Another option would be to have as many guns in as many calibers as possible. That way, if you were to "find" ammo, you wouldn't be screwed because you found 30-06 when you have .223.This is my opinion.

So your saying your just going to pick random people off to send a message? Have you ever had to pull the trigger on someone?

The problem with randomly taking shots at people is you might not kill them. But you have made it a personel matter. The person might be a whole lot smarter, meaner, and you will have pissed them off. But on the up side. After they burn you out or cut your throat after sliping up behind you. They can take whatever they want of yours. :-( got to be carefull with guns. Somebody could put a eye out ... lol

That's what BioInclined is saying, gmaster, yes. He is going to snipe at people. But it's from his house so it's OK 'cause the victim he's murdering shoulda known better...

...from the rotting corpses he left there previously. And MD1911's concern with this is you have to make sure they're dead or else they may com'n get back at ya.

Who the hell are you sick losers? Mosin, Josh, Ranger, Bio and now MD need to be pariahs here. IMHO of course.

Mosin, Josh, Ranger and now Bio need to be pariahs here and in real life. IMO of course.
The problem with starting trouble is the other person might be a whole lot tugher than you think you are. I am not against defending what is mine at all. I just don't think starting **** is a good plan of action.

I hadn't quite finished editing my post... So, your problem, md1911, with "starting trouble," aka murdering people in cold blood at 20 yards, is that there may be repercussions, i.e. if you aren't 100% successful.

You are right up there with the most sociopathic posters I have ever read.

I think you have me all wrong. I don't advocate sniping inocent people. I will protect what is mine now and after shtf. I will do it by whatever means are neccesary. I was saying one of the problems with sniping for no reason are the reprocussions if your not 100%. Not to mention its moraly not right to shoot inocent persons. So before you say I'm socopathic maybe you should re read my posts.

.22........Dispatching Zs...............................(1,000 rounds on person)

9mm........Marauder defense \ Z Defense \ Concealable...(400 rounds on person)

.45 ACP....Marauder defense \ Z Defense \ Concealable...(250 rounds on person)

5.56 NATO..Marauder defense \ Hunting \ Z Defense.......(250 rounds on person)

.308.......Marauder defense \ Hunting...................(150 rounds on person)

12ga.......Marauder Defense \ Hunting...................(75 rounds on person)

If I had to pick one, I would go with 5.56 I didn't
pick the .22 because if you were in a situation
where you were just picking off Zs one at a time
and had the luxury of being quiet, I would probably
use a melee object. (That's a whole different thread)

*Keep in mind that Z-Defense is different from Dispatching Zs.

This gets away from the ideal round for end of the world.

But if you were allowed one gun, I think I would cheat.

I would go AR-15 with a .22 conversion.
+ .223/5.56
+ .22 LR
+ Looks intimidating (where a .22 rifle might not)
+ Changing cal. takes less than 2 min.
